What is motivation?
Motivation is an important part of self growth. Without it personal development is unlikely to happen. People often attribute motivation to how they feel about doing something. Motivation however, is more than just a feeling. Feelings come and go and are never consistent.
Simply put, motivation is not just desire. To be really motivated means consciously making those desires happen. It is all about putting that desire into action. Desire without action is merely words. If you do not mean to do something, you won’t. You might think about doing something while vegetating in front of the TV, but until you actually take action and get up and do it, it is only desire or thoughts.
You need to have determination to make your dreams reality, and sometimes that will mean acting with determination, and making a hard nosed decision just to do it. The hard truth is you are just pretending to yourself if you have no motivation to accomplish a wanted dream or goal.
Finding motivation iand keeping it on a consistent basis is not easy and that is why you have to make a decision, and act out of your will and not your emotions sometimes. Every single person has or has had difficulties with motivation. Becoming motivated is a major challenge to personal growth. There will always be the little voice inside you telling you to get motivated later. Until you make up your mind to exercise your will at that moment, motivation will always be an obstacle to your personal growth.
